Hope 4 Autism

Hope 4 Autism, Inc was founded February 2010 by Carmen Veal. Carmen is a single parent of a 7 year old child with Autism.  Autism is a neurological brain disorder that affects an individual’s normal functioning. It restricts these individuals from living a “normal” lifestyle due to complications with social disabilities. This disorder is often referred to as Autistic Spectrum Disorder or ASD. There are some very mild, intermediate, and more severe forms of Autism.  Carmen’s daughter suffers from a more severe form of Autism, being completely nonverbal and lacking basic operational skills to function on her own on a daily basis. Struggling with the complications of being a single parent of a child with ASD, Carmen was challenged with financial hardship which led to mental stress.

After accepting that her daughter had ASD, she began profound studies on this disorder and grew an immense passion to help others who are in the same situation. With a board of supporters she has created a non-profit that is truly coming to light in the community.

H4A is a state registered nonprofit organization currently undergoing tax exempt 501 (c ) (3) status with the Internal Revenue Service. H4A’s purpose is to raise public awareness of Autism by providing advocate services, mini grants and to raise public awareness of ASD. Future plans involve community fundraisers that will help the organization grow, once funds are available a future goal is to build a recreation and family service center for the individuals and families affected by ASD.
